Barely a week after the volcanic eruption of May 22, 2021, North Kivu authorities and scientists note a significant decrease in seismic activity. UNFPA humanitarian team on the field observes return movements of people from Sake to Goma. Many of them report that their homes were burglarized and/or looted. Also, most of the displaced persons and members of the host families are faced with shortages of food and livelihoods.
